2010 March 5

WOD #2 of the NC/SC Sectional Qualifiers

5 rounds for time:
6 deadlifts (275lb/155lb)
12 box jumps, 19in box (men over the box, women on the box)
1 rope ascent (15ft).. sub 10 pullups for each rope climb

The over-the-box jumps can be performed by either jumping from side-to-side or jumping  forward and turning around to jump back.  Over is 1 rep, over and back is 2 reps.

    They are not allowing us to “bounce” the deadlifts either…we have to regrip every rep.

    Thanks Justin, you just saved me $40.00 for the 4 in the family. Brad, nice muscle up, my goal is to get in that club in March for my birthday present to me. Good WOD, can’t wait and let’s see how many of our guys and girls beat the times of the people in the sectionals this week end, we have some awesome athletes.

    115lbs on deadlift, pulled up from floor on rope x 10 to equal 1 rope ascent

    That was tough for me. I need to get over my fear of heights and learn to climb the rope!

    Thanks to the noon class for being patient while I did a tabata before stretching and thanks Nicky for the push and instruction during the WOD, I surely needed it!

    11:02—Really bad form with my deadlifts. Did 2 sets at 155# and 3 sets with 115#. Need to lower the weight to get the proper form…my lower back started to hurt. I like the rope climbs a lot but will wear higher socks next time. Good luck in NC Brian, Nigel, and Chris!!!

    Go Brian Go!! After 1st WOD Brian is in 1st place with a time of 6:52. Chris finished in 7th place at 7:30 and Nigel in 30th place with 8:12. Great work guys!!

    17:13 first 3rnds rope climb…lost a lot of time on round 4 trying to climb. My forearms were all knotted up! Also scaled up to 15pullups per missed rope climb.
