1.  In general, what is your background?

I grew up in Florida and went to Georgia Tech to pursue a Chemical Engineering degree.  I was also on the Swimming and Diving team (diver). My fiance got transferred to Charleston for work and I found a better job here, so here we are.

2.  Age, Occupation?

26, Process Engineer

3.  How did you get to know about CrossFit and why did you start?

I finished my college athletic career in 2008 and found myself lost.  A bunch of my swimmer friends had started at CrossFit Atlanta after college and I followed.  It was the only thing that actually challenged me and kept me mentally engaged.

4.  How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle, level of fitness?

I had always been fit when I was diving but it was very sport-specific.  I had coordination and speed, but I couldn’t run a mile to save my life.  CrossFit, along with mtn/road biking helped me find endurance and forced me to acknowledge my weaknesses.  But the biggest thing has been nutrition.  I could never quite get rid of that belly pooch and my legs are naturally toothpicks.  Eating Paleo 5 days a week has changed my body and my energy levels have gone through the roof.  I only wish that in college we had CF as our supplemental training and I hadn’t eaten so much pasta for dinner!!

5.  Name one goal and/or personal record you would like to accomplish through CrossFit?

To have 135# cleans as a working weight in WODs.

6.  Favorite CrossFit moment so far?

At CFI it was doing WOD 3 of the Open when I first moved here.  I moved here halfway through last year’s Open and was still registered with CF Atlanta, but Pat counted for me and everyone doing the WOD was so energized, it made me feel at home.

7.  What do you like most about CrossFit Integrity?

The people!  Everyone is so supportive and it’s so much fun to watch people achieve things they never thought they could.

8.  Favorite WOD?

Nasty girls! It became a big goal for me when I first started because I wanted muscle ups and 95# hang cleans.  I still remember watching the original video on the home page and thinking  “wow those girls are amazing!”

9.  Least favorite WOD?

Karen or Kelly.

10. Favorite movement?

Squat snatch.

11. Least favorite movement?

Wall balls.  Hands down.

12. Favorite place to eat in Charleston?

My kitchen.  But Peninsula Grill and 5 Loaves are pretty good too 🙂

Little Steph!! You are amazing, and I am so glad you and Mike moved to Charleston! You are hands down one of the most incredible athletes in our gym, routinely lifting more than your body weight and crushing gymnastics movements alike! Good crossfitters definitely can come in small packages:-). Your Olympic lifts are a thing of beauty, and you are such an inspiration. Rock on!!
