“Bear Complex” (view video)

5 rounds, 7 sets of the following sequence:
power clean, 1 rep
front squat, 1 rep
push press, 1 rep
back squat, 1 rep
push press, 1 rep

Work one time through a single rep of each exercise. Complete 7 times for one round.  Do 5 rounds total working up to your max. Rest as needed between rounds.

This complex is not done for time.  It is a strength and tenacity workout.  Rest as much as necessary between sets, and even during them — you just cannot put the bar down.  You may put the bar down when the round is over.  Once you have finished your seven rotations, you may rest, then add a little weight and go at it again.  The bar may touch the ground only when you start the power clean, but it must be a touch and go thing.

Post weight for each round to comments

had to set the bar down on set 5 of the last round, the presses killed me after the last 2 day’s WODS.

I’ll be lucky to be able to lift my arms by the end of the day

My forearms just couldn’t take it anymore, gotta work on those. Not being able to set the bar on the ground really makes a difference!

Wow, Chuck, a finger injury- doesn’t that qualify you for not deploying from MNC NE?

Great work Samantha. I was on the fence if I should stay to encourage you to beat my best weight!

45-65-53-58-63 Don’t know what I was thinking on that second round. I nearly burned myself out for the whole thing! Push press from a back squat is a killer!!!

I had a love/hate relationship with this one!!! Was really tough to not put the bar down, but felt really good when it was all over! And I love the sweet bruising on the back of my neck ;)

And as I told Kevin earlier…looks like the back of my neck got beat with a metal bar, which Kevin pointed out that I actually did get beat with a metal bar…Just that I was the one doing the beating:)
